Agra RPF chief shunted amid Hirakud Express row

Lucknow: Senior divisional security commissioner (RPF), Agra division, P Rajmohan, was on Thursday transferred to the Northeast Frontier Railway, a day after his press-conference on the Agra Cantt railway station controversy. The transfer comes amid an ongoing inquiry into the Jul 12 incident in which four RPF personnel were suspended and later booked by the GRP for allegedly assaulting deputy station superintendent operating (dy SSO) Narendra Singh Chahar. The confrontation erupted after the unscheduled halt of Hirakud Express (20808) shortly after its scheduled departure from Agra Cantt station.Sources said Rajmohan was not authorised to address the media. The RPF personnel include assistant sub-inspectors Meghraj Meena and Balkishan, head constable Badan Singh and constable Jitendra Singh. They were booked after Chahar submitted a written complaint.Passengers Ranjita Rao and Ashish Kumar claimed they had briefly got off the train and were unable to reboard when it started moving. They said Chahar ordered the train to be stopped for their safety. They alleged that an RPF woman constable pulled Rao off the train, seized her mobile phone and took them to the RPF office, where they were falsely accused of chain-pulling, fined Rs 1,000 without a receipt, and subjected to misconduct. The incident drew political attention after Fatehpur Sikri MP Rajkumar Chahar publicly reprimanded the RPF personnel. A committee is probing the incident.Meanwhile, ASI Meena has been transferred to Lalitpur, ASI Kishan to Fatehpur district, head constable Badan Singh to Chitrakoot and constable Jitendra Singh to Manikpur.
