Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will develop an integrated industrial and economic zone comprising manufacturing units, logistics parks, warehousing facilities, MSMEs, commercial establishments and workers’ housing units between Jewar and Tappal-Bajna to connect Noida International Airport with the proposed Tappal-Bajna Logistics Park & Urban Centre in Aligarh. The proposed industrial corridor, approved at YEIDA’s board meeting on Wednesday, is likely to come up on 7,600-8,000 hectares along Yamuna Expressway, an area strategic for industrial, logistics and warehousing activities because of its proximity to the cargo terminal and the broader industrial ecosystem developing across YEIDA.The Authority expects the corridor to also strengthen connectivity with the 364-acre Tappal Bajna manufacturing and logistics hub that is to house cement, steel, grains and auto warehouses.Officials said the Authority will soon appoint a consultant to prepare a techno-economic feasibility report to assess the region’s development potential, economic viability, market demand, investment attractiveness, infrastructure requirements and environmental suitability. It will also identify suitable industrial sectors, assess land availability and existing land use, evaluate financing and implementation models, and recommend a phased development strategy for the node.Once the feasibility report is approved, the consultant will prepare a master plan extending to 2041. The plan will recommend a land-use framework based on land suitability, connectivity potential, environmental considerations and development constraints, aimed at ensuring sustainable growth of the industrial area. The planning exercise will also cover industrial zoning, transportation and logistics networks, utility infrastructure, environmental management measures and development control regulations.Officials said the Authority was fast-tracking industrial projects following the start of operations at Noida airport and its cargo terminal on June 15 and June 17, respectively. The last date for submission of applications to hire the consultant is Aug 5, with bids to be opened on Aug 7.
