NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man died and three others, including his wife and two children, were injured after a car rammed into their motorcycle on Vikas Marg in east Delhi early Thursday morning. The accused driver was apprehended at the spot by bystanders.According to police, a PCR call was received at Shakarpur police station around 1.50am regarding a road accident on Vikas Marg, on the stretch from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar. The caller informed that the injured had already been shifted to a hospital and the driver of the offending vehicle had been detained by the public. Police teams rushed to the spot and initiated an inquiry. The incident took place around 1.30am near the Geeta Colony cut, when a car collided with a motorcycle.At the time of the accident, four persons were riding on the motorcycle. All the injured were taken to Hedgewar Hospital, where Neeraj, a resident of NSA Colony in Vishwas Nagar, was declared brought dead during treatment. He was returning home from Connaught Place with his family at the time of the incident.His wife, Sonam, and their two children sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment.The body has been shifted to the mortuary of LNJP Hospital for post-mortem examination.Police said the accused, identified as Sachin Gulati (45), a resident of Sector-31, Noida, was apprehended at the scene. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
