Kolkata: The Bansdroni Police has initiated investigation against a young man after allegations of repeated rape, blackmail, and physical torture of a woman over five years.The matter came to light after the survivor lodged a formal complaint.Police sources said the case was initially filed at the Metiabruz PS. As the accused resides in the Brahmapur area under the Bansdroni police limits, the Metiabruz police first registered a ‘Zero FIR’ and then transferred the case files to the Bansdroni police station for a detailed probe. Most of the incidents occurred there.The complainant stated that her acquaintance with the accused began in 2019 after she accepted his friend request on social media. The alleged abuse began in Nov 2021 during a meeting at Diamond Harbour. He allegedly took her to a hotel in New Digha and sexually assaulted her.
