Bengaluru: A 24-year-old unemployed youth was arrested on charges of stabbing his grandmother to death for advising him to become more responsible and start earning.Prajwal, a resident of KS Layout, was charged with murdering D Gowramma, his maternal grandmother. Prajwal was sent by his mother, Lakshmi, to look after Gowramma as she was alone at her Kenchagoravaiahna Doddi residence, near Bannerghatta. Gowramma’s husband, Dodda Durugaiah, had gone to Kanakapura for work.“Gowramma would advise Prajwal not to waste time or spend money unnecessarily. A college dropout, Prajwal never stuck to one job. He was unemployed and this made Gowramma angry. On Tuesday night, Gowramma repeated her advice before going to sleep. Prajwal, who woke around 2am, went to the kitchen, took the knife and slit her throat. Then he came to his house in KS Layout, where he told his mother he had killed Gowramma,” a police officer said.Prajwal fled after the murder and cops traced him near Bannerghatta and arrested him.
