Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha on Tuesday reiterated that his state govt is committed to advancing the development and welfare of its citizens, drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s leadership, reports Biswendu Bhattacharjee. During the inauguration of 11 projects valued at Rs 105.73 crore in Udaipur of Gomati district, he emphasised that under PM Modi’s tenure, the country experienced significant growth, which Tripura aims to mirror through its public welfare initiatives. Saha highlighted the alarming rise in non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and cancer, stating that Tripura is also affected. He stressed the importance of early disease detection, particularly for those over 30 years old, with a target of screening 15 lakh individuals annually to enhance healthcare access.He further mentioned that the govt laid foundation stones for various projects totalling Rs 1,500 crore this financial year, with over Rs 121 crore in projects already underway. The state has allocated Rs 10,000 crore for capital expenditure focused on infrastructure improvements for the year.Citing PM Modi’s HIRA Model, Dr Saha noted that Tripura has received more than 350 national awards and is dedicated to implementing projects that benefit future generations.
