Mohali: A gas agency employee was seriously injured after a consumer and his associates attacked him with sharp-edged weapons in Zirakpur, following the denial of a cylinder before the stipulated 35-day period. The incident has triggered strong reactions from gas distributors, who have threatened a statewide shutdown, if the accused are not arrested.According to information, the consumer arrived to collect a gas cylinder, but was informed by the staff that he was not eligible for a refill as the mandatory waiting period had not yet elapsed since his last purchase. Angered by the refusal, the manindividual allegedly began verbally abusing the staff, creating a commotion inside the office. He then called in several associates from outside. The group reportedly entered the premises and attacked an employee, whosustained a severe eye injury and was left bleeding profusely.
