Gujarat Technological University (GTU) reopens CCC exam registrations for govt employees

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has reopened registrations for the Triple C (CCC) exam for govt employees, with the deadline set for April 30. The exam, which tests basic computer proficiency, is mandatory for many state govt employees either after securing a job or during their service.Despite high demand, especially from Ahmedabad, candidates are facing inconvenience due to limited exam centres. Currently, only GTU and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University conduct the CCC exam, as Gujarat University has not resumed it. Earlier, when Gujarat University also held the exam, candidates were distributed across three institutions, reducing the burden on each.According to sources, around 11,000 candidates registered for the exam in 2025. Since the test is conducted only on weekends, it takes nearly eight to 10 months to complete the exam process for all applicants. Last year, exams that began in May were completed only by Feb.The situation has worsened after Gujarat University discontinued the exam following a controversy related to malpractice. No significant action or investigation was completed in that case so far. As a result, candidates are now dependent on the limited capacity of other universities.Interestingly, GTU itself faced a marks manipulation controversy, where an IT employee was suspended, but further action is still pending. Despite these issues, GTU has continued the process, and more than 7,000 candidates have already registered this year, with the number expected to cross 10,000 soon.
