Kolkata: A partly cloudy sky and traces of rain continued to shield the city from heat and humidity. Met officials has ruled out heavy rain in Kolkata and south Bengal for now even as the city will continue to be under partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain.The low pressure area that ultimately intensified into a depression later has now dissipated. This weather system had brought widespread rain throughout south Bengal in the past few days. While Kolkata was spared of heavy downpour, around 48 mm of rain from Sunday to Monday morning had pushed the mercury down significantly below normal.On Tuesday, the city got only light and insignificant showers. But due to the traces of rain and the cloud cover, the maximum temperature continued to hover below the normal mark at 30.2 degrees Celsius, which was 2.3 notches below normal.The Met officials said that the weather will remain comfortable for the next few days.
