NEW DELHI: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has revoked the licence of a food outlet in Patparganj, sealed the premises and destroyed all food items after more than a dozen people fell ill after consuming momos from the shop.The incident occurred on Sunday, when several people, including children, complained of vomiting, stomach pain and uneasiness after eating momos. All were hospitalised, with one child reported to be in a serious condition, while others were discharged after primary treatment.Following the incident, MCD officials inspected the outlet, collected food samples for testing and sealed the shop. Preliminary findings pointed to lapses in hygiene and food safety standards, prompting authorities to initiate action against the shopkeeper.Speaking to TOI, officials said that although the shop possessed a valid licence, it has now been revoked in view of the serious lapses found during inspection. The outlet will remain shut until it is declared fit to operate.Health department officials have advised people to be cautious while consuming food from outside during summer.
