Gurgaon: Over 80% of pending complaints filed on MCG portal Samadhan Shivir have been reopened. As of April 24, 168 out of 207 pending complaints are under the “reopened” category, while only 21 are fresh complaints that remain pending.The highest number of pending cases is with the engineering wing, with 94 complaints, including 87 reopened cases of sewer-related complaints, roads, community centres, among others.The enforcement wing shows a similar trend, with 34 out of 37 complaints reopened, pointing to repeated complaints on action against violations.In the sanitation wing, 10 of 13 pending complaints have been reopened, while in the taxation department, 7 out of 11 cases have returned after being marked as resolved.“These complaints are reopened by the headquarters if the complainant is not satisfied with the resolution or if they think that further investigation is needed in the matter,” an MCG official said.At a review meeting on Monday, MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya instructed officials to maintain accountability and transparency in their respective work areas. “Time-bound and effective resolution of residents’ problems should be the priority of the administration,” he said. During the meeting, he said no laxity would be tolerated. He warned that officials or employees found negligent could face action, even a suspension, chargesheet and termination of service if necessary.Moreover, the commissioner also directed officials not to leave their station during weekends without prior approval. He said it is essential to ensure the availability of officials to address any problem that may arise in the city at any time.
