75,980 qualify for TAT-S main exam in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The State Examination Board has officially announced the results of the Teacher Aptitude Test-Secondary preliminary exam. A total of 75,980 candidates across the state have secured 35% or more marks, qualifying them for the upcoming main exam.The preliminary test was conducted on May 3 for candidates aspiring to become secondary school teachers. Out of 2.11 lakh registered candidates from both Gujarati and English mediums, 1.9 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.Most of those who qualified are from Gujarati medium. About 2.1 lakh Gujarat-medium candidates registered for the exam, of which 1.8 lakh appeared, and 74,118 scored 70 or more marks out of 200, making them eligible for the main exam. Of the 5,105 English-medium candidates who registered, only 3,510 appeared, and 1,862 qualified.The evaluation process included multiple stages to ensure transparency. OMR sheets were published on May 8, followed by the release of the provisional answer key on May 16. Candidates were allowed to submit objections until May 25. A workshop involving subject experts was held on June 4 and 5 to review these objections, and the final answer key was released on June 25.Performance data indicates that 53,215 candidates scored 80 or above, while 33,612 candidates secured 90 or more marks. Additionally, 26,444 candidates crossed the 100-mark threshold, and 3,628 candidates scored 120 or above.Candidates can check their results on the official SEB website using their seat number and date of birth. The main examination is tentatively scheduled for Aug 16.
