Rajkot: A 70-year-old man was mauled by a wild animal, suspected to be a lion, in Una taluka in Gir Somnath district in the early hours of Saturday.The victim, Bhupat Gohil, was sleeping in the open on his farm in Nandrakh village when the animal attacked him. Gohil resisted, causing the animal to flee.He taken to hospital where his condition is said to be stable.According to forest department sources, the lion may have taken Gohil for a prey animal as he was sleeping under a black blanket and aborted the hunt on realizing it had attacked a human.
