GUWAHATI: Seven people were killed in two separate road accidents in Assam’s Sonitpur and Biswanath districts on Saturday, police said.Five people were killed after the car they were travelling in collided with a truck near a petrol pump in Balipara area under Rangapara Police Station limits in Sonitpur on Saturday morning, a senior police officer said.All five victims were occupants of the car. They were identified as Har Gobinda Hajoari, Nayan Swargiary, Pappu Bora, Pranjal Bania and Sanjay Mech, all residents of Ghoramari Batabari area in Sonitpur.The truck driver fled the spot following the accident, police said.In another accident in Biswanath district, two persons were killed after their speeding motorcycle hit a tree at Kachmari near Behali, the officer said.The deceased were identified as Rupam Das and Gajendra Malah.The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, police said.
