Gurgaon: District town planner (enforcement) on Saturday carried out a major demolition and encroachment-removal drive in DLF Phase 3, razing unauthorised structures at seven houses in V-33, V-34 and V-35 blocks and clearing encroachments along nearly 1.3km of road right of way.The enforcement team targeted illegal rooms, toilets and kitchens built in stilt parking areas and rear setbacks, besides removing encroachments on public road land.At V-33/6, four rooms and two toilets constructed in the stilt parking of an S+4 house, along with coverage in the rear setback, were demolished. Similar action was taken at V-33/7, where four rooms and two toilets had been built in the stilt parking area besides unauthorised coverage in the rear setback.In V-34, the team demolished a bedroom, toilet and kitchen constructed in the stilt parking at V-34/16, and removed a similar unauthorised bedroom-toilet-kitchen construction at V-34/10A.The drive continued in V-35, where four rooms and toilets built in the stilt parking were demolished at V-35/13, while two drawing rooms, a domestic help room and toilets built in the stilt area were removed at V-35/11.The team also acted against encroachment on public land at V-35/21, where around 15 feet of road land had allegedly been covered by the property owner and incorporated into the front lawn. The structure and encroachment were demolished and the road land restored.Officials said the team separately cleared the road right of way along a stretch of around 1.3km in front of nearly 45-50 houses, where various encroachments had reduced usable road space. The clearance is expected to improve movement and restore the designated road width.Following the drive, DLF management was directed to remove construction and demolition (C&D) waste generated during the action, and to clear accumulated debris from V Block and W Block through the prescribed process so that public roads and common areas are not obstructed.The enforcement department said action against unauthorised construction, misuse of stilt parking, setback coverage and encroachment on road land would continue in DLF Phase 3, warning that further action would be taken wherever violations are found.“Stilt parking is meant for vehicles. Construction of rooms reduces parking space and forces vehicles onto roads, affecting traffic. PGs and guesthouses operating without permission also inconvenience residents,” DTP (enforcement) Amit Madholia had earlier said.He cautioned buyers against purchasing rooms or other spaces carved out by builders in stilt parking. “Such construction is illegal. People should avoid buying these spaces. Action will be taken wherever violations are detected,” he added.
