Jaipur: A minor collision between two motorcycles escalated into a late-night confrontation in Hasanpura Thursday where a group of people blocked Hatwara Road after one of the riders was allegedly slapped during an argument. Police detained seven suspects as tensions rose in the area.DCP (West) Prashant Kiran said the dispute began when two men on motorcycles brushed against each other. An argument followed, during which one man allegedly slapped the other before leaving the spot.The man who was slapped remained in the area and called his family and acquaintances. People from his side later gathered on Hatwara Road and blocked traffic, demanding the arrest of the man accused of assaulting him. The blockade disrupted movement on the road and heightened tension in the locality.Personnel from Sodala and Sadar police stations reached the spot after receiving information about the dispute. MLA Gopal Sharma also arrived and tried to pacify the protesters, urging them to clear the road.Police held talks with the group and assured them that action would be taken against the accused. The standoff continued until around 2am, when the protesters lifted the blockade following the assurance.Police detained seven suspects in connection with the incident. Tension prevailed in the area during the confrontation, though the road was eventually cleared.
