62K youths selected in job fairs in 9 yrs of Yogi govt

Varanasi: Employment fairs organised in Varanasi over the nine-year tenure of Yogi govt have opened new doors of opportunity for youth. Before 2017, youth had to migrate in search of employment, but now national and multinational companies are coming to their district with job offers. Govt’s priority is to give youth employment in their own city. National and MNCs are participating in employment fairs being organised by Regional Sevayojan Office, in the city. Global Investors Summit and Ground-Breaking Ceremony have further expanded employment prospects.Govt’s resolve to provide jobs to youth closer to their homes is gradually being fulfilled. Youth are getting jobs according to their talent and qualifications. Assistant director (Sevayojan) Mukesh Kumar said number of candidates selected from 2017 to Mar 2026 is 62,172, while number of employment fairs organised has grown from 21 to 48, reaching a cumulative total of 323 — nearly 2.5 times more in nine years.Varanasi Regional Sevayojan Office’s employment fair In charge Deep Singh said that in past nine years, more than 1,700 employers participated in employment fairs in Varanasi. Apart from private and public sectors, several reputed multinational companies, nationalised banks, automobile companies, reputed security solution companies and prominent companies from textile, footwear, service sector, real estate, sales and marketing, IT software, education and other sectors have participated. Candidates have received good packages at the fairs commensurate with their qualifications. Govt’s priority is to make Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan successful by connecting youth in the state with employment and self-employment, and to provide work to every hand, said the Sevayojan office.
