Hyderabad: A six-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a neighbour in Peddapalli district. The incident came to light on Saturday.According to Manthani sub-inspector Sandeep Kumar, the girl’s parents, who work as daily-wage labourers, had gone to work on Aug 12. Their daughter, a class II student, returned home in the evening after school.The accused, 23, allegedly lured the child to his house by offering her chocolates and biscuits. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her, police said.The girl later complained of severe pain to her mother. The following day, on Aug 13, her parents took her for a medical examination. Doctors reportedly informed them that the findings were suspicious.Following the medical examination, the girl’s parents approached the police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the accused under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.Police said further investigation is underway.
