6-month pregnant woman killed by husband after argument in Faridabad
Neha Kumari was murdered by husband Amit Kumar on Wednesday after she urged him to go to work. However it sparked a dispute between the two that lead to her murder

Gurgaon: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband after she allegedly asked him to go to work in Panchsheel Colony, Faridabad, on Wednesday. She was six months pregnant. A family member claimed that the husband had called him after the incident and told him that he had assaulted his wife and repeatedly dunked her head into a bucket of water, leading to her death. Police said the husband currently remains at large and efforts are underway to trace him.Police said Neha Kumari married Amit Gupta in April 2025. Last month, they moved into a rented home in Panchsheel Colony Part 2. Amit worked at a small private firm and had the habit of skipping work. This became a recurrent topic of disagreement between the two.Amit allegedly called his uncle, who lives in Alipur village near Badarpur border. He told police that an argument broke out between the couple at 8.30 am. The dispute escalated, following which Amit allegedly assaulted her. He allegedly tried to strangle her with a scarf and later dunked her head multiple times in water. He then switched off his phone and fled.Neha’s brother-in-law said the family tried contacting her several times in the morning, but she did not respond. When they reached the house, they found her dead in the bathroom.The family informed the police, and a team from Palla police station went to their house. They sent the body for an autopsy to the Civil Hospital mortuary. Crime Branch and forensic teams also inspected the scene and collected evidence.The officer added, “A murder case has been registered against the husband and teams are conducting raids to arrest him.”“Preliminary investigation points towards murder,” a senior officer said. “Further action will be taken after the autopsy report and forensic examination.”In another case, a man has been arrested for murdering his wife in Alampur village in the early hours of Wednesday. Police said Tahir Hussain has been taken into a three-day police remand for questioning.An FIR had been registered against him after his wife Zoya’s father, Samshu, filed a complaint. Samshu claimed that Zoya had died at her marital home under suspicious circumstances.During the investigation, police found that Tahir was in contact with his sister-in-law and wanted to marry her. “His wife Zoya came to know about this, following which an argument broke out between the couple on the night of the incident,” a police officer said.Police said Tahir allegedly assaulted Zoya during the dispute and strangled her with a scarf.
