Gurgaon: Around 500kg of ready paneer and 100kg of milk were destroyed Thursday after a surprise inspection by Chief Minister Flying Squad (CMFS), Faridabad, at a dairy unit in Khaika village of Palwal district found the paneer unfit for consumption and cleanliness at the premises unsatisfactory.The inspection was carried out Thursday following a tip received by CMFS about the use of adulterated or other substances in the preparation of paneer from milk at Talim Dairy in Khaika village, under Bahin police station.A team led by DSP Vivek Chaudhary of Chief Minister Flying Squad Faridabad conducted the inspection jointly with Food Safety Officer Palwal Ishwar Kumar and local police. The dairy is owned by Talim, a resident of Khaika village.According to CMFS officials, at the time of inspection, paneer was being prepared at the dairy and around 500kg of ready paneer was found at the premises. The dairy operator was asked to produce a valid licence and presented the dairy’s FSSAI registration, which was valid.The ready paneer was also found to be unfit for consumption. Under the supervision of Food Safety Officer, a pit was dug with the help of a JCB, following which around 500kg of paneer and 100kg of milk were destroyed and buried at the spot.Earlier on Sept 11, nearly 7,600kg of synthetic paneer was seized during overnight raids at three units along Gurgaon canal in Gondola village and one in Nai. Action was taken after a TOI report, on Sept 10, ‘Analogue alarm: How synthetic paneer takes a Gondola ride to your plate,’ had flagged how clandestine manufacturing hubs in the Gondola belt were producing large batches of synthetic or analogue paneer using skimmed milk mixed with palm oil, vegetable fats and soya paste. Following which synthetic paneer was seized during overnight raids at three units along Gurgaon canal in Gondola village and one in Nai.
