4 girls flee with 16k to watch BTS concert

Kolkata: Four 15-year-old schoolgirls, who fled from home on April 21, have been rescued from Old Delhi Railway Station by a special team from the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. Cops said they left in a bid to travel to South Korea to attend a concert by global K-pop group BTS.The class 9 students from Lake Town and Dakshindari left home in uniforms on April 21 but never reached their school. School authorities informed their families, and missing complaints were filed. Investigators later found that the girls had boarded a train to Delhi and reached New Delhi Railway Station, planning to continue their journey to Seoul. With only about Rs 16,000 among them, they believed they could complete the journey despite lacking passports. Police said the girls checked into a budget hotel and began planning their travel. However, with funds running low, they started calling their friends when they were tracked down. On April 25, they were intercepted by the Govt Railway Police at Old Delhi Railway Station and were later escorted back to Kolkata.
