Gurgaon: A 33-year-old private company employee died after a commercial taxi hit his scooter from behind near Maharana Pratap Chowk late Wednesday. The driver fled after the crash, police said.The deceased, Praveen, who was a resident of Ashok Vihar in the city, was critically injured in the accident and was taken to a hospital by the cops where doctors declared him dead.Police said they received a call around 9:30pm and a team from Sector 17/18 police station reached the spot and found the man was already dead.Police found a card on the body with his personal details. “We are trying to contact the family,” an officer said.A case would be registered after the family is contacted and an autopsy is conducted. Police said they are working to identify the taxi and its driver and analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to zero in on the man.
