Pune: A 32-year-old man was found dead on the Riverbed Road around 7.30am on Sunday.Later in the day, the Deccan Gymkhana police registered a case of murder against unknown assailants under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The police have identified the deceased as Krushal Kasbe, a resident of Ganj Peth.Girisha Nimbalkar, senior inspector of Deccan Gymkhana police, told TOI that the murder took place sometime before 7.30am and the police team reached the spot after receiving a call from passersby. “His throat was slit by the suspects who used a sharp weapon for the crime,” Nimbalkar said.Nimbalkar added, “Kasbe used to work as a security guard with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), but he left his job three years ago. He was currently unemployed.”“We were still probing who killed him and the motive behind the crime. Our team was also examining CCTV footage to ascertain who was with him on Saturday night or during the early hours of Sunday,” Nimbalkar said.
