Varanasi: Three youths riding a motorcycle were killed after a speeding trailer ran over them on the Varanasi–Shaktinagar highway near Madaiyaa village under Pipri police station limits in Sonbhadra late Thursday.According to police, the three youths were travelling on the same motorcycle towards Makara when it collided head-on with the trailer near Madaiyaa village. The impact was so severe that all trio fell beneath the trailer’s wheels and died on the spot.With the help of locals, cops removed the bodies and sent them for postmortem examination.The accident led to a traffic jam on the Varanasi–Shaktinagar route. Police removed the damaged motorcycle and the trailer from the road, restoring normal traffic movement after some time.Pipri police station in-charge Rajesh G Chaubey said they are trying to establish the identities of the deceased using the motorcycle’s registration number. Nearby police stations have also been alerted to assist in the identification process.
