JAISALMER: In a shocking case from recent days in Sri Ganganagar, a 13-year-old minor girl was kidnapped and subjected to sexual exploitation and rape in various city hotels for many days.Taking strict action against the 3 hotels where gang rape and prostitution incidents occurred, the police and district administration demolished all three hotels early Wednesday morning using hydraulic machines and JCBs.The other shops operating beneath these hotels had already been vacated the previous day. District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav, Superintendent of Police Shri Harishankar, and other officials were present at the site.By running bulldozers over the three hotels, the district administration sent a clear message that no kind of illegal activity will be tolerated in the district.The administration finally cracked down at dawn today against the perpetrators who forced the 13-year-old girl into prostitution across different hotels in Sri Ganganagar.In the presence of a heavy police force early this morning, bulldozers were run over three hotels. This action brought a wave of relief and satisfaction across the area.Under the direction of Sri Ganganagar SP Harishankar Yadav and District Collector Amit Yadav, Hotel Khungar, Hotel Joy Inn, and Hotel Sapphire were completely demolished.The entire area was turned into a police cantonment during the operation.During the operation carried out early Wednesday, SDM Nayan Gautam, ASP Deepak Sharma, CO City Vishnu Khatri, the Kotwal, and more than 50 police personnel and administrative officers were present on the spot.Strict security arrangements were made across the area to prevent any untoward incident. The district administration is also in the process of sealing other hotels allegedly involved in the case.By Wednesday morning, 14 accused had been arrested in this heartbreaking incident, and more arrests are likely.Case details as stated by SP Harishankar, SP Sri Ganganagar on June 22, a complainant woman appeared at RICO Police Post and orally stated that on 18 June, she had gone to work.When she returned home in the evening, her daughter was not at home. She searched nearby and with relatives but could not find her.The complainant also stated that her daughter did not have a mobile phone.The complainant provided her daughter’s photograph. The in-charge of RICO Post immediately informed the SHO, Sadar Police Station about the incident.Based on information received from a source, the SHO, Sadar Police Station, along with a team, immediately raided Hotel Joy Inn and recovered the complainant’s minor daughter.The hotel operator and two employees were also brought to the police station. During sensitive counselling of the victim by the SHO, Women’s Police Station, the rape incident came to light.The victim told police that a rickshaw driver had sold her to hotel operators.Based on the victim’s report, a case was registered at Women’s Police Station, Sri Ganganagar under relevant sections, and the investigation was handed over to Shri Kailashdan, RPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Women Crime Investigation Cell, Sri Ganganagar.Considering the gravity of the case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under the supervision of Shri Deepak Kumar, Additional SP, Sri Ganganagar, and Smt. Neelam Chaudhary, Additional SP, Women Crime Investigation Cell.The SIT included various SHOs, the District Special Team, Cyber Team, and FSL Team. Using technical evidence, CCTV footage, site inspections, and the victim’s identification, the team effectively investigated and has so far arrested 14 accused, including 1 hotel owner and 2 hotel managers.Scientific evidence has also been collected during the investigation.The SP stated that in strict action against the perpetrators who forced the girl into prostitution in different hotels, three hotels were demolished with bulldozers on Wednesday morning.Around 3:30 AM, Dream Hotel at Birbal Chowk, Joy Inn at Housing Board Crossing, and Sapphire Inn at Chahal Chowk were demolished using JCBs and hydraulic machines.Security arrangements were kept tight across the area to prevent any untoward incident.SP Harishankar said 14 accused have been arrested in the case so far. The police investigation is ongoing, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty. No accused will be spared.Sri Ganganagar District Collector Amit Yadav clarified that hotels, guest houses, and other establishments running illegal activities in the district will be regularly inspected.Establishments found violating rules or involved in illegal activities will be sealed and strict action will be taken as per rules.The safety of women and girls is the top priority, and the joint campaign of police and administration will continue in this regard.
