Chennai: Police seized 400kg of red sandalwood logs from a vehicle in Parry’s Corner and arrested three men in connection with the bid to smuggle, sources said.Acting on a tip-off, a team from the North Beach police station inspected an SUV parked at Fourth Beach Lane in Clive Battery. During the search, officers found red sandalwood logs inside the vehicle, the police said.Police arrested Anand Antony of Sivaganga district, and Chengiz Khan and Mohammed Azhar, both residents of Mannadi. The seized contraband and the accused were handed over to the forest dept officials in Teynampet for further action.
