Hisar: The Hansi police on Friday claimed to have arrested three persons from Charkhi Dadri and seized 266.6 kg of explosive material that was being transported without valid authorisation.Police said the arrested accused – Aman, Kuldeep and Rakesh – failed to produce any licence or documents permitting them to possess or transport the explosive material.According to police, a CIA-1 team led by sub-inspector Kapil was patrolling the area and gathering intelligence when it received a tip-off that explosives were being transported in a vehicle.Acting on the information, the team set up a checkpoint within the jurisdiction of Hansi City police station and intercepted the suspicious vehicle. During a search, police seized 266.6 kg of explosive material.The occupants were asked to produce valid licences and other mandatory documents related to possession and transportation of the material. However, they failed to furnish any documents, following which all three were arrested, police said.Police seized the vehicle along with the explosives and registered a case under relevant sections of law at Hansi City police station.Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the explosive material, its intended destination and the purpose for which it was being transported, police added.Hansi superintendent of police Vinod Kumar said the drive against illegal activities would continue.
