Gurgaon: Three men died after a truck rammed into a stationary container truck on IMT Chowk flyover in Manesar in the early hours of Friday. The accident took place around 2.10am when the vehicle was on its way from Bhiwadi to Delhi on NH-8. The complainant, Durga Prasad, who was driving another truck, told police that his brother Shankar Bind was driving ahead of him. As the vehicles approached the flyover, the container truck was found parked on Jaipur-Delhi carriageway without reflectors or indicators on, leading to the crash, he said.Shankar (45), conductor Sunil Kumar Gaun (40), and their acquaintance Ramraj Prasad (40) died on the spot. Police said a team reached the spot soon after receiving information, shifted the bodies to the mortuary at Civil Hospital in Sector 10, and informed the families.A case has been registered at Manesar police station under BNS Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 285 (negligent conduct).“An investigation is under way to identify the truck driver and ascertain the sequence of events. We are also trying to contact the truck’s owner. A notice will be served and action will be taken against the culprit,” SHO Satyawan of Manesar police station.In another incident, a 35-year-old man was critically injured after being hit by a canter on Lakhuwas-Sohna Road while he was out for morning walk in the early hours of April 28.Vedpal, a resident of Sohna’s Lakhuwas, had stepped out around 5.40am when the accident occurred, police said.His brother Sonu, who was on his way to a gym with a friend, witnessed the accident and later filed a complaint at Sohna police station.Sonu told police the canter, which was coming from Ballabhgarh Mod side at high speed, overtook another vehicle and lost balance after crossing a speed breaker. “Near a petrol pump close to the village, the vehicle struck Vedpal, throwing him towards a nearby drain and causing severe head injuries,” he said.Sonu and his friend rushed to help him. When the driver briefly slowed down before fleeing the spot, Sonu noted its registration number (HR 38 AJ 4015).Vedpal was first taken to a private hospital in Sohna and later shifted to another facility in Badshahpur on April 29 due to the severity of his injuries. He is still critical,” a police officer said.A case was registered at Sohna police station on April 30 under BNS sections 281 (rash driving) and 125A (causing hurt by an act endangering life).
