TNNLucknow: The excise department shuffled 27 senior officials deputed across the state on Thursday night.Officials said assistant excise commissioners and district excise officials (DEOs), who spent three or more years at the same place, were shifted to a new place. DEOs, who act as the backbone of the department in the field, were shuffled in 18 cities, while the remaining 17 were deputed as assistant commissioners.Arvind Maurya was posted as DEO, Gorakhpur, while incumbent DEO Mahendra Nath Singh was moved to the headquarters. Similarly, Rakesh Bahadur Singh was shifted to Bijnor as DEO and was replaced by Ravi Shankar, who was deputed as assistant commissioner in a Ghaziabad-based distillery.Other districts where new DEOs were posted are Ayodhya (Nirankar Nath Pandey), Sultanpur (Dharmendra Verma), Hapur (Rajesh Kumar), Chandauli (Ghanshyam Mishra), Bhadohi (Mukesh Kumar Sharma), Hapur (Rajesh Kumar), Sambhal (Sanjay Kumar Vidhyarthi), Deoria (Suresh Chandra Mishra), Pilibhit (Vijay Pal Singh), Siddharth Nagar (Vijay Siddhanth), Etawah (Subhash Chandra), Lalitpur (Surendra Kumar), Shravasti (Prakash Singh) and Auraiya (Anil Kumar Bharti).
