Noida: A 26-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Greater Noida on Monday morning, police said. The man allegedly jumped from the third floor of a residential highrise in Gaur City 1, where he lived with his family.According to police, the man’s father and sister were asleep at the time of the incident. He allegedly went to the balcony without alerting his family members and jumped. A team from the Bisrakh police station reached the spot and found the man seriously injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Police said they received information from local residents at 5am that a man had fallen from the highrise. “It was revealed during the preliminary investigation that the man had slipped into depression after his mother died around a year ago. He was already distressed and the death of his cousin around three months ago worsened his mental state,” a police officer involved in the investigation said.Police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot or from his belongings during the initial investigation. Officers are examining the circumstances leading up to the incident and speaking to family members to ascertain whether he had shown any signs of distress or had discussed his mental state with anyone before his death. The body was sent for an autopsy and was handed over to the family, later.
