— Attachment Content: 25vns2-_Codeine-_Bholas_Rs_4.50Cr_property_forfeited_in_VNS.txt —Codeine- Sonbhadra cops forfeit Rs 4.50 Cr assets of syndicate kingpin’s father in VaranasiKingpin, 2 aides’ assets on next targetVaranasi: A team of Sonbhadra police completed the legal formalities of forfeiture of Rs 4.50 crore immovable properties in a codeine cough syrup smuggling case, including those of the syndicate’s kingpin, Shubham Jaiswal’s father, Bhola Prasad Jaiswal, in Varanasi on Tuesday evening.A team of Sonbhadra police also displayed notices at the homes of Shubham and his 2 close aides, Nishant Kumar Gupta alias Ravi Gupta of Bhadohi and Vijay Gupta of Kabirchaura in Varanasi, asking them to appear before police by Friday to avoid forfeiture of their movable and immovable properties.Sonbhadra SP Abhishek Verma said on Wednesday that, after seeking approval of the competent authority (Administrator), SAFEMA Court, Delhi, the immovable properties of Bhola identified at Bharlai in Shivpur and Jagdishpur in the Pindra area of Varanasi were forfeited under sections of the NDPS Act. The value of Bhola and his family members’ properties seized on Tuesday was estimated at Rs 4.50 crore.As Shubham and his aides, including Nishant and Vijay, are still absconding, a team of police also reached Varanasi for compliance with the proclamation order issued by the court of the Special Judge and posted notices at their residences. These notices stated, “In case of non-appearance by February 27 before police, action to forfeit their movable and immovable properties will be taken.”In the actions of Sonbhadra and Varanasi police, properties worth over Rs 44 crore of Shubham’s father Bhola, who is currently lodged in jail following his arrest from Kolkata airport in November 2025, and their close aide Manoj Yadav were already forfeited. Shubham is suspected to be hiding abroad.
