NEW DELHI: A day after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in a DDA park in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur, police arrested three men and recovered the murder weapon, solving the case within 18 hours.The deceased was identified as Toheed, a resident of K Block in New Seelampur.Police said they received information on Friday morning about an injured man lying in a DDA park near JPC Hospital. A police team rushed to the spot and shifted him to JPC Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.A case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was subsequently registered at New Usmanpur Police Station.During the investigation, forensic experts examined the crime scene and collected evidence, while police teams analysed multiple leads. Investigators found that Toheed had been involved in a quarrel with some people earlier that evening.Based on the evidence collected, police arrested the three accused — Shahnawaz (21), Noor Hasan (20) and Anas (21), all residents of K Block T-Huts in Seelampur.During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the murder. Police said they revealed that Toheed had earlier slapped Noor Hasan and threatened Shahnawaz. Seeking revenge, the trio allegedly conspired to kill him, lured him to the park and repeatedly stabbed him with a knife.Police said the knife allegedly used in the crime has been recovered. They added that Shahnawaz was previously found to be involved in a robbery case.
