Silchar: Cachar Police on Friday arrested two persons in separate cases as part of its ongoing crackdown against fake medical practitioners in the district.Police said the first accused, Biswajit Singh (53), a resident of Bantarapur under Kachudaram police station, was arrested in connection with Sonai police station case. The second accused, Bikram Singh (26), a resident of Manipurbasti in Tarapur under Silchar police station, was arrested in connection with a Silchar police station case. They have been booked under Sections 316(2), 319(2), 336(2), 340(2), 125 and 271 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police said the special drive against fake medical practitioners will continue in the coming days to curb fraud in the healthcare sector and protect public health.
