Varanasi: Azamgarh police on Monday suspended sub-inspector Krishnakant Yadav and constable Jitendra Kumar for alleged gross negligence, indiscipline and violation of departmental confidentiality.Azamgarh SSP Anil Kumar suspended both the cops posted at Ahraula police station with immediate effect after serious allegations were found against them.According to police, the two personnel were allegedly negligent and arbitrary in discharge of their duties and violated departmental discipline. They are also accused of sharing confidential information and documents related to cases and investigations with local criminals and accused persons through phone calls and WhatsApp. The allegations further include attempts to influence investigations and cases to provide undue benefit to accused persons, violation of departmental confidentiality, and disobedience of orders and directions issued by senior officers.Following the prima facie findings, the SSP ordered their immediate suspension and initiated departmental proceedings against them.Azamgarh police warned all personnel to discharge their duties with integrity, honesty and discipline and strictly comply with the orders and directions of senior officers. The department said disciplinary action would be taken against those found violating these instructions.
