Chandigarh: A 19-year-old woman was found hanging at her home in Sector 56 Sunday. Police said no suicide note was found on the spot.The deceased was identified as Neetu, a resident of Palsora village in Sector 56. She was living with her two brothers, as their parents had passed away.Police said one of her brothers found her hanging from the ceiling in her room and raised an alarm. With the help of neighbours, the family brought her down and rushed her to GMSH, Sector 16, where doctors declared her brought dead.After receiving information, a team from Sector 36 police station reached the spot and inspected the scene. The body was shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem, and inquest proceedings were initiated.

Police said statements of the deceased’s brothers and neighbours were being recorded to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death.Officers said no external injury marks were found on the body and ruled out any immediate suspicion of foul play. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received.
