Palanpur: The Palanpur Taluka police have busted an inter-district motorcycle theft racket with the arrest of three accused and recovery of 19 stolen motorcycles worth Rs 7.15 lakh.The breakthrough came on July 3, when a team from Tambana police outpost under Palanpur Taluka police station intercepted two men riding motorcycles without number plates on the Sangla-Rajpur Road. As neither rider could produce ownership documents, police questioned them and found one of the motorcycles was reported stolen from Amirgadh police station limits.The duo, Basuraram Dhrangi and Ravindrasinh Chauhan, were detained. “During interrogation, Basuraram confessed that he stole motorcycles and concealed them at Ravindrasinh’s farm. He also revealed that several stolen motorcycles were kept at a garage owned by their associate, Vikram Thakor,” said HB Dhandhaliya, inspector, Palanpur Taluka police station. Eight more bikes were recovered from the garage, and Thakor was also arrested, he said.
