17-year-old boy killed in accident in Jamnagar

Rajkot: A routine ride to school on Monday left a 17-year-old Class X student dead, after a vehicle struck his two-wheeler from behind in Jamnagar. CCTV footage of the crash has surfaced, helping police trace the vehicle involved and launch an investigation.Alauddin Odia (17) was killed in the accident that occurred in the Pawanchakki area around 8am. The accident occurred at around 8am in the Pawanchakki area, when Alauddin was travelling to school.According to preliminary inquiries, Alauddin had left home and stopped at a petrol pump to refuel his two-wheeler. On leaving the petrol pump, he was headed towards his school when the collision occurred. The injured student was taken to a hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.CCTV footage of the accident surfaced on social media and is being examined by investigators. Family members and relatives gathered at the hospital after receiving news of the incident. The victim’s family said the driver responsible for the accident had fled without checking on the student’s condition or arranging medical help.Jamnagar City A Division police registered a case and initiated further investigation. From the CCTV footage, police identified the registration number of the vehicle involved and began tracing its ownership and the person who was driving it at the time of the accident.
