Margao: A 16-year-old boy died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a four-wheeler at Amrutnagar, Gogol, Margao, on Tuesday night. Fatorda police booked an offence against his father for allowing a minor to drive a two-wheeler.The deceased has been identified as Abel Menezes of Curtorim. His father, Rui Menezes, a former sarpanch of Curtorim panchayat, has been charged with permitting his minor son to ride the two-wheeler despite him not being of legal age to drive.The accident occurred around 10.15 pm as Abel’s motorcycle collided with the four-wheeler belonging to Raunak Raikar, 26, of Pajifond, Margao.Abel sustained serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao, where doctors declared him brought dead. A post-mortem report stated that he succumbed to grievous internal injuries to the mouth, chest and abdomen.Further investigation is under way.
