Jaipur: A major fire broke out in a sixth-floor flat of an apartment building in the Muhana area of Jaipur Saturday, spreading to two adjoining flats and triggering a rescue operation in which around 15 people were evacuated, police said.The incident occurred around 2.15 pm at an apartment complex near Muhana Mandi. Police said the fire started in a flat on the sixth floor and quickly intensified, with smoke spreading through the building.Teams from the police and fire department evacuated residents trapped between the sixth and second floors. During the operation, a man collapsed near the staircase after inhaling smoke. He was carried out by police personnel, regained consciousness after about 10 minutes, and was taken to a hospital for first aid.Officials said that the fire damaged electrical wiring in the building, prompting authorities to cut off the power supply as a precaution. A fire tender brought the blaze under control within about 20 minutes.One flat was completely gutted in the incident, while two adjoining flats sustained partial damage.Further investigation is under way to ascertain the cause of the fire.
