Silchar: Police seized 15 active rounds of 7.65mm bullets from a mobile parts shop in Sribhumi district and arrested its owner on Thursday night.Acting on a tip-off about illegal ammunition sales, Sribhumi Sadar police raided the shop at Katakhal on Longai Road. Officers arrested Noshail Ahmed (37) of Biskoot and recovered the live rounds.“An investigation has been launched to trace the source of the bullets, how they ended up in a mobile accessories shop, and who the intended buyers were. We are questioning the accused to establish the supply chain and determine whether a larger arms trafficking network is involved,” a police source said.Police said the raid was conducted in the presence of independent witnesses and legal formalities were underway.
