12 Delhi-bound flights diverted to Jaipur amid bad weather

Jaipur: Twelve Delhi-bound flights, including four international services, were diverted to Jaipur International Airport Sunday after bad weather disrupted operations in the national capital.The diversions began around 11.30am, and all flights departed for Delhi by 2.30pm.The diverted international flights were Thai Airways TG323 from Bangkok, IndiGo 6E064 from Jeddah, Air Astana KC907 from Almaty and Air India AI4308 from Dubai. The domestic flights included Air India services from Kolkata, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Pune and Mumbai, and IndiGo flights from Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.A passenger on Air Astana flight KC907 complained of nausea and was provided medical assistance on the airside by an airport doctor and ambulance.Airport sources said all 12 diversions were handled within three hours without affecting scheduled flight operations at Jaipur. Passengers were not deboarded as the turnaround time was short.Jaipur airport is frequently used as a diversion airport for northern India due to its CAT III-B landing system, which enables aircraft to operate in low-visibility conditions. The airport is also equipped with advanced approach lighting and Runway Visual Range (RVR) systems.
