Panchkula: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini will attend the state-level celebration of the 12th International Yoga Day as the chief guest on June 21 at the parade ground in Sector 5, Panchkula. Organised under the theme “Yog Yukt- Nasha Mukt Haryana,” the main event will run from 6 am to 8 am and feature a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address followed by a common yoga protocol session.Deputy commissioner Satpal Sharma and Haryana Yog Ayog chairman Dr Jaideep Arya co-chaired a multi-department review meeting at the Mini Secretariat to finalise arrangements. The event is being jointly organised by the Haryana Yog Ayog and the Ayush department with district administration support. Separate nodal officers have been appointed for security, parking, and traffic management, while the Red Bishop Convention Centre has been designated as a backup venue in case of bad weather.The celebrations include a series of run-up events, starting with a marathon on June 15 from Town Park to Tau Devi Lal stadium, which is expected to draw 2,000 participants. Additionally, special yoga sessions for public representatives and senior officials will be held at the parade ground from June 16 to June 18, following the block-level mass training camps that concluded on June 13.Dr Jaideep Arya stated that the state-level event will see participation from the general public, social organizations, and various yoga institutions. To boost attendance, Dr. Arya proposed a missed-call-based registration system and noted that over 100 international participants are expected to attend the Panchkula venue.
