Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Cyber Crime Police registered a case against unknown persons for allegedly attempting to facilitate a fighting event through advertisements circulated on social media. Following the social media post, a suo motu case was registered.The social media team of Malkajgiri Police came across the reels uploaded on various social media handles.“Upon examination of the reel, it showed dangerous physical fights between individuals, which posed a serious risk to human life and potentially encouraged violence among youth,” the FIR, registered on Saturday, mentioned.Officials said the reels were promoted with content titled Season One – Series Two, with the tagline “No Rules, Just Fists”. As per information provided by the organiser, the event was supposed to take place on Sunday at Saroornagar.“Namaste, boxers. I am again organising a fight club on June 14. Last time, we could not give everyone a chance to participate. This time, we want to provide everyone with an opportunity to enter the ring. People who have a passion for boxing can experience it. Girls, it is you who need combat abilities; you should come and show your power,” the organiser said through a handle named Purvi. A fee of ₹349 was fixed for participation.Immediately, the cybercrime police alerted the local Saroornagar Police to trace the organiser and foil the event on Sunday. After verification of records, the local police informed cyber crime officials that on Friday, the organisers had sought permission for 300 persons in the cellar of a property near Saroornagar Metro Station, but it was rejected. They also found that a case had been registered previously against the organisers by Chaitanyapuri Police for organising such an event.On learning that several persons had shown interest, the police on Sunday followed up with the organisers to ensure the event was not held.
