Thane: The Nagpur-based Mahametro has appointed a general consultant for the execution of the 29km-long Thane Integral Ring Metro project, officials informed on Tuesday.An infrastructure firm, AECOM, bagged the contract to work as the general consultant for the ambitious project following a bidding process, said officials. “The consultant will be responsible for design review, project supervision, quality assurance, and contract management throughout the execution of the metro project,” said an official. The 29-km metro corridor, estimated at Rs 12,000 crore, aims to connect Thane railway station to city’s far-flung areas. tnn
