Noida: A 49-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after taking an e-rickshaw to the multilevel parking in Sector 18 and jumping from one of its upper floors on Saturday afternoon. Police said they are examining CCTV footage to establish the exact sequence of events and the floor from which she jumped.The woman who died was Situ Talwar, a resident of Sector 20. Her husband, Mohit Talwar, is a retired wing commander of the Air Force and now runs a business. The couple have a son studying in Class XII of a private school in the city.According to police, the incident took place around 2pm. Preliminary findings suggest Situ arrived at the parking facility in an e-rickshaw, entered the building and went upstairs before remaining there for a few minutes. She then allegedly jumped.After receiving a Dial 112 call, a police team rushed to the spot and took her to a private hospital in Sector 27, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Her family was informed immediately.ACP-1 Praveen Singh said preliminary inquiry revealed that Situ had been undergoing treatment for depression at a private hospital in Delhi for nearly 20 years. Police said her family did not report any previous suicide attempt.Officers said the exact floor from which she jumped is yet to be confirmed as there is no CCTV camera covering the location. “We are scanning CCTV footage from other parts of the building to trace her movement. She is suspected to have jumped from the first or second floor of the six-storey parking facility,” an officer said.No complaint was filed by the family till late on Sunday evening. The body was sent for autopsy, and further proceedings are underway.
