Navi Mumbai: The Rasayani police in Raigad, in coordination with NGO Help Foundation, rescued eight passengers travelling in an MSRTC bus after the vehicle got stuck on a rainwater-flooded road near Sarsai village along Karjat-Pen Road on Sunday afternoon, due to the Patalganga river crossing the warning level following incessant rains for the past three days. A cop carried a 72-year-old woman passenger on his shoulder and, wading through the waist-deep flooded road, reached a safe locationwith her . Abhijit Bhujbal, senior inspector of Rasayani, said, “Upon receiving an alert about an MSRTC bus with 8 passengers stuck due to a breakdown on the flooded road near Sarsai village, we summoned NGO Help Foundation members for a joint rescue operation. The eight passengers were provided with life jackets to enable them to wade through the waterlogged road for a distance of about one km. As it was not possible for a senior citizen woman to wade through the flooded road, a cop carried her on his shoulder and, wading through the flooded road, reached safety with her.“
