Lajpat Nagar Colony Hospital gets new block, day-care facility as Delhi CM inaugurates upgraded infrastructure

New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta Friday inaugurated a newly constructed block and a state-of-the-art physiotherapy centre at Lajpat Nagar Colony Hospital, saying the Delhi govt is committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible, quality medical services for citizens. The newly built front block, constructed at a cost of over Rs 4.6 crore, houses a six-bed day-care centre, 12 air-conditioned consultation rooms, a conference room and a modern physiotherapy centre developed with CSR support.During her visit, Gupta inspected the OPD, day-care and health check-up facilities and interacted with patients to understand their concerns. She described the upgraded facility as a “mini-hospital” capable of providing immediate healthcare services to thousands of residents.Previous administrations, Gupta alleged that healthcare services had suffered due to inadequate infrastructure, medicine shortages and poor management, and asserted that her govt was committed to improving public healthcare delivery.Meanwhile, speaking at the event, Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi said residents would no longer need to travel to larger hospitals for several treatments, as many services would now be available at the upgraded hospital.Wahi also said the MCD is expanding its network of Aarogya Mandirs across the city, with a target of establishing more than 100 such centres. He added that civic initiatives related to sanitation, waste management, education, transport and healthcare are being accelerated under the present administration. The upgraded hospital will provide a range of specialised services, including general medicine, gynaecology, ENT, ophthalmology, paediatrics, dermatology, dentistry, AYUSH services, nutritional counselling, laboratory facilities, digital X-ray, spirometry, biothesiometry, TB care, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.
