Pune: The School Education Department on Friday released the second merit list for first year junior vollege (FYJC/Std XI) admissions under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the 2026-27 academic year. In this round, 28,234 students across Pune region were allotted seats.Students who have received allotments must confirm their admission by uploading the required documents online and reporting to their respective colleges within the stipulated timeframe. Officials warned that failure to complete the process within the deadline will result in the forfeiture of the allotted seat.Jyoti Parihar Solanki, assistant director of education (Pune region), explained the options for students: “Those who were allotted a college in the first round but chose to wait for an upgrade can now either accept their new allotment or complete admission at the previously held seat if no change occurred. Students who did not receive an allotment in this round should revise their preferences to participate in the third round.”The department also noted that admissions under the economically weaker section (EWS), minority, and central quota categories remain open until July 5. Students are advised to monitor their login dashboards and SMS notifications for official updates.Total allotments in the Pune region have now reached 77,466. Science continues to be the most sought-after stream with 43,007 allotments, followed by commerce (18,471) and arts (15,988).Data shows that 66,357 students secured a seat in one of their top-preference colleges. This includes 35,115 students who got their first-choice science college, 15,665 for arts, and 15,577 for commerce.In terms of school boards, SSC students dominate the allotment list with 69,234 seats, followed by CBSE (6,857) and CISCE/ICSE (905).The department also released indicative cut-offs for a few popular colleges. Fergusson College recorded a science cut-off of 492 and an arts cut-off of 459. Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) had a commerce cut-off of 466, while Sir Parashurambhau College closed at 404 for science and 394 for arts. Symbiosis College recorded an arts cut-off of 409, while Nowrosjee Wadia College’s arts cut-off stood at 282.
