Man kills younger brother over money dispute in Barmer

Jaisalmer: A dispute over a money transaction between two brothers ended in murder in Barmer district, where a 25-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with a cricket bat by his elder brother, police said Friday. The incident took place Thursday night in Pushad village under Sheo police station limits. Police detained the accused, Jetharam, soon after the incident. According to Sheo SHO Manohar Vishnoi, Suresh, went to his elder brother’s house to discuss a financial dispute. An argument escalated into a violent confrontation, during which Jetharam allegedly struck Suresh repeatedly on the head with a cricket bat lying in the house, killing him on the spot. Their elderly father, Togaram, who was present at the house, alerted police. FSL and MOB teams examined the scene and collected evidence. A murder case was registered on the complaint of Togaram, and an investigation is underway. After a postmortem Friday, the body was handed over to the family. Both brothers were farmers. Suresh is survived by his wife and a young daughter.
