Lucknow: UP govt has set July 10 as the deadline for completing the tender process for all tourism projects approved till March 31, 2026.“All executing agencies have been directed to complete the pending tendering process by July 10, so that the construction begins without delay,” said tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh after a departmental review meeting on Thursday.Singh reviewed the status of tourism and cultural projects across Uttar Pradesh, including pending tenders, ongoing works and district-level cultural initiatives.Officials were directed to formulate strategies to increase tourist footfall and strengthen basic amenities at key destinations. The minister also instructed officials to clear all pending contractor payments within 15 days to prevent disruptions in project implementation.Emphasising timely execution, Singh said: “Projects approved this year should move into the implementation phase by Nov.”He warned that unnecessary delays or lapses in quality would invite strict action.“Preparing action plans alone is not enough. The focus must now be on timely execution and visible progress on the ground,” the minister said, adding that tourism infrastructure should generate employment while improving visitor experience.Singh also asked the departments to install QR codes, information panels and directional signage at major heritage sites to make them visitor-friendly.He directed officials to make district culture promotion councils functional by Aug 15 and expedite land identification for the proposed Sanskriti Bhavan near Shaheed Path in Lucknow and the new campus of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya at Kakori.
